Mohamed Salah: farewell to Anfield is a sad moment and it is difficult to top the historic scorers

Egyptian international Mohamed Salah described the moment of his departure from Anfield as sad if the current negotiations to renew his contract with Liverpool failed, which raises speculation from time to time due to the lack of a final agreement.

"Of course playing in this atmosphere and seeing the fans always behind me, I have banners in the stadium, two or three, the fans always sing my song, it will be a really sad moment, but if they want me to leave, it's something different!".

The Egyptian Pharaoh said:"before leaving Liverpool, I wish I could be Liverpool's top scorer in history but over 300 is very difficult to get.

Mohamed Salah is the ninth highest scorer in Liverpool's history with 155 goals, while Ian Rush leads the list with 346 goals.

"I don't know if I will stay with Liverpool after 2023 or not, I have one year left, I think the fans know what I want but it's not all about money, I don't know honestly but the fans know what I want," said Mohamed Salah in comments published by the English newspaper "The Athletic".

"With the contract, it's not all about money, this club means a lot to me, I've had more fun here than anywhere else, I've given everything to the club, I've had some incredible moments, I've won trophies, individual trophies and goals as well.

"Here at Liverpool it's like a family, "I'm not worried about anything, I don't let myself worry about anything, the season is not over yet, so let's finish it in the best way and that's the most important thing.
